The most popular baby names inspired by TV and movie villains revealed

What's in a name? It can be a time of debate between those expecting a new addition to the family.

Choosing a name can be a tough - after all, the little one may be stuck with it for the rest of its life.

Some are inspired by their own family before them or who the latest celebrity is.

But research from Babysense has revealed that soon-to-be parents in the UK have been inspired by TV and movie villains.

Whether they are a straight up baddie or a complex 'misunderstood' villain, more babies are getting the names of the anti-heroes.

Between the UK and US, 19,000 babies have been named Dexter, with over 9k little ones sharing the name with the popular TV serial killer in the UK.

Marvel's Loki also grabbed second place in the UK, with 800 baby boys named since 2000.

The top two baby girl names in the UK were Ursula and surprisingly-for any Harry Potter fan-Dolores.
