'The most fashionable club in crisis' - Arsenal fans go crazy as bruised banana kit is unveiled

Arsenal finally ended a run of nine games without a win on Monday night.

They had to do it the hard way though.

It looked like the Gunners would be sinking deeper into the mire and towards a relegation battle as they trailed West Ham by a goal to nil at half-time.

But three goals in nine second half minutes turned the tide and secured Freddie Ljungberg's first win as interim head coach at the third time of asking.

It moved Arsenal up into ninth place in the Premier League table and eased the tension around the north London club considerably.

And the result came at a perfect time for the commercial department too.

Available from tomorrow on Arsenal's official online store, the Gunners are unveiling a new 'bruised banana' shirt in homage to the hugely popular kit they wore in 1992.

Arsenal's kits have been designed by adidas this year for the first time since then and this year's away shirt is a nod to that bruised banana piece, with the yellow number having the faded bruises across it.

But, the full retro shirt is set to be released to the Arsenal fans on December 11 - tomorrow - making their victory against West Ham timely.

There has been little in the way of marketing and advertising of the new kit release up until now, but a new advert hit social media on Tuesday morning, hours after the Gunners' win over the Hammers.

And the Arsenal supporters have gone nuts for the release of the kit, which is unlikely to be worn by the first team this season.

But it is certainly a crowd pleaser and will no doubt yield much-needed funds to help the first team in the future in terms of transfers and other outlays.

You can see how the Arsenal fans reacted to the video above.
