The most expensive movie of all time revealed – and it might not be what you think

  • A new report has identified Jurassic World: Dominion (2022) as Hollywood's most expensive film of all time.
  • According to Fortune , the third instalment in the Jurassic World franchise had a staggering gross budget of $658.8m (£498m).
  • This figure surpasses previous record holders, including Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
  • Despite its high production cost, Jurassic World: Dominion earned $1bn (£756m) at the box office, a decline compared to the first two films in the series.
  • Other notable high-budget productions include the Avatar sequels and the Star Wars TV series Andor , which cost $645m (£487.6m) for two seasons.
