The most expensive houses sold in Bristol during 2019

Bristol's property prices have grown rapidly over the past few years, with the city being described as an increasingly popular place to live by experts.

Gentrification within certain neighbourhoods remains a controversial topic and it has certainly increased property value in areas of Bristol over recent years.

Areas such as Clifton, Leigh Woods, Westbury-On-Trym and Stoke Bishop are just some of the highly desirable areas in Bristol where property is often snatched up in an instant.

And with a competitive housing market, comes high house prices in these sought after locations as well.

Data shows that more than 70 homes sold in Bristol for more than £1m or more in 2019.

We've listed the top 10 most expensive sales from 2019 below.

1. £3,350,000 - Clifton

A 12 bedroom property on Clifton Down sold for an eye watering £3,350,000 on January 29, 2019.

Since it was sold last year, it's value has increased by £95,000 to £3,736,000 according to Zoopla.

2. £2,900,000 - Clifton

This 6 bedroom terraced house located in Clifton sold for £2,900,000 on January 25, 2019.

The value of the property has dramatically increased over recent years because the last time the property was sold was in May 1998 for £585,000.

3. £2,650,000 - Clifton

The terraced property which is located in Clifton sold for £2,650,000 on September 4, 2019.

4. £2,210,000 - Stoke Bishop

A detached house located in Clifton sold for £1,800,000 on October 23, 2019.

When the property last sold in November 2012, it sold for £249,950, so the price of the property has risen dramatically.

7. £1,725,000 - Stoke Bishop

The property last sold at a price of £490,000 on August 26, 1998, which shows how gentrification has led to more expensive housing in areas like Stoke Bishop.

8. £1,695,000 - Redland

A 7 bedroom property in Redland sold for £1,695,000 on July 29, 2019.
