The most expensive homes sold in Newcastle and the North East in September

Luxurious homes in central Newcastle, a huge modern mansion in Sunderland and idyllic country and seaside properties made up the most expensive house purchases in the North East last month.

Data from the Land Registry reveals the area's millionaire's rows, showing the streets where people paid the highest prices for property in October.

In Newcastle, Jesmond dominated the most expensive list, while a huge family home in Sunderland came second.

You can take a look at property where you live via our InYourArea site.

Here's where the top 10 most expensive house purchases made in the region last month took place:

This quaint cottage in the picturesque rural village of Rothbury features four bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The Meadows, Seaton, Seaham, County Durham

A swish detached house with six bedrooms and a gated driveway.

Coniscliffe Road, Darlington

Sold for £610,000 on October 4

It's a little further south than we normally go, but this detached house makes the Land Registry list of the most expensive in the North East.

Grosvenor Place, Jesmond, Newcastle

Sold for £590,000 on October 4

Grosvenor place, Newcastle (Newcastle Chronicle)

Back to Jesmond for this terraced house, which lies just two streets parallel to ever popular Osborne Road.

Edge Hill, Ponteland
