Chelsea legend Ashley Cole has spoken of his excitement of the Blues’ attacking threat under Frank Lampard next season.
Chelsea have already been active in the transfer window, with the additions of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.
Lampard is also keen to add more attacking threat to his starting lineup ahead of next season, with Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz at the top of the transfer list.
The Blues are locked in talks with the Bundesliga side, with the sticking point being the £90 million transfer fee that is being demanded by Leverkusen.
Havertz is keen on moving to Stamford Bridge this summer, and there remains a confidence around the club that a deal can be completed.
Should it be, it will mean that Chelsea have three new attacking threats going into the next season, and it is something that certainly excites Cole.
“Frank has had a brilliant first season and added two players, and maybe Havertz as well,” he told StatsPerformNews.
“Our attacking threat is amazing and the fans will be happy.
“Hopefully they can add Havertz to make their attacking threat even more potent. It is a young squad, with young players who have top quality and have played in top leagues being added.
“It’s good to see them at Chelsea and hopefully they can quickly integrate into the team ahead of next season.”
Should they complete a deal for Havertz, Chelsea will be keen on adding to the defence in the coming weeks, with left-back a priority position for Lampard.
Leicester full-back Ben Chilwell appears to still be at the top of the target list, despite a £80 million asking price.
