Eddie Hearn has piled the pressure on Tommy Fury ahead of his grudge match with Jake Paul, claiming he should “go to a desert island” is he loses.
After months of trading barbs over social media, Fury and Paul have finally agreed to a bout, with the pair set to face each other in the ring on December 18 in Florida.
Fury is the odds-on favourite with the bookmakers to defeat the YouTube star, who is unbeaten since turning professional last year.
There’s already plenty of pressure on the Love Island star to win, with his brother Tyson Fury having told him he would “retire him from boxing myself” should he lose.
And Hearn has added some fuel to the fire, saying it would be the “most embarrassing thing” should Fury lose to Paul.
“Logic would tell you a pro that boxed for a living and was also Tyson Fury's brother should never lose to Jake Paul,” Hearn said via talkSPORT's Michael Benson.
“If Tommy loses, he should go to a desert island and just stay there for life. It would be the most embarrassing thing.”
There could be plenty more on the line other than his reputation for Fury, with plenty of talk over the last few months of bizarre clauses being inserted into the contract for the fight.
The most discussed one involves Fury having to change his name to “Tommy Fumbles” should he lose, with Paul having been given the idea after Tyson threatened to change his name.
“If Tommy can't splatter Jake Paul, I'll retire him from boxing myself,” Tyson told Behind the Gloves.
“He's got ambitions of being a world champion, never mind beating some YouTube guy.
“His name's Fury. If he can't beat Jake Paul, I'll have to change his name.”
