The Miami Dolphins’ 2020 schedule is officially out — and the Dolphins are going to have to hit the ground running with two road games in the first three weeks of the season and then a two game road-trip to end the year. Miami’s full sixteen game schedule can be found here.
But where does the biggest challenge lie for Miami?
October looks to be a challenging month for the Dolphins. The team will host the Seattle Seahawks and then hit the road for consecutive road games on the opposite end of the country. That can be a challenge in itself but when the teams are the defending NFC champion San Francisco 49ers and a “mile high” date with the Denver Broncos in consecutive weeks will certainly test the Dolphins’ mettle. The Broncos aren’t a team coming off a highly successful 2019 season but head coach Vic Fangio will have a remodeled Broncos defense in top shape and the team’s heavy investments in the skill positions will test Miami’s ability to cover speed.
A return to South Florida to end the month to host the Chargers will be an easier test to digest, especially with the west coast team facing a 1PM EST kickoff on October 25th. But if the Dolphins are going to settle into a contender role in their second season against Brian Flores, the team is going to have to find sturdy footing in October amid the slew of mental and physical tests that will await them.
A close runner-up for toughest stretch? The Dolphins’ final four games, which sees Miami host the Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots before hitting the road for their final two games against the Las Vegas Raiders and Buffalo Bills to close the regular season.
