The most affordable places to buy a home in Edinburgh and the Lothians have been named by property site Zoopla.
Looking at eighteen locations in the Edinburgh and Lothians area, the property site then compared what homes were worth with average local wages.
Interestingly, the top three most affordable towns are all based in the West Lothian - with West Calder taking the crown as the most affordable town with an average property price of £110,000, making the property price 3.8x more than a local's average earnings.
Bathgate in West Lothian came in second place with an average property price of £107,000.
If you want to live in West Lothian however we wouldn't recommend Linlithgow, where the average property price is a whopping 7.89 times more than the average income in the area.
North Berwick in East Lothian is the most expensive when it comes to buying a property with an average property price of £425,000 making the property price 11.61 times more than the average local's income.
The most affordable place to live in Edinburgh itself is South Queensferry, followed by Kirkliston.
