The mood in the Man City dressing room ahead of Liverpool FC showdown

Raheem Sterling has warned Liverpool that Manchester City are full of confidence going into Sunday's Premier League showdown at Anfield.

Sterling scored as City beat Burnley 2-0 in comfortable fashion on Wednesday, making it 20 games unbeaten with the last 13 being consecutive wins. The victory means City are three points clear at the top of the Premier League, with a game in hand over their rivals, and a win over Liverpool will put them in complete control of the title race.

That winning run has given City confidence going into the trip to Anfield, with Sterling reiterating manager Pep Guardiola's mantra that the next game is the only focus.

With the next game being Liverpool, Sterling said mood in the City dressing room was positive, with everyone pulling in the same direction.

He told BT Sport: "Just togetherness, we've seen how difficult the season has been, it's about grinding results out, week by week, focussing on the next game. That's what we've been doing in the last couple of weeks, grinding out results.

"The more you win, the better you feel, we've done a professional result today. Going into that one [at Liverpool] it's the same as today, we try to keep our focus and go for the win."

Reflecting on the win over Burnley, Sterling said the first goal - scored by Gabriel Jesus in the third minute - was crucial to establishing control over the Clarets.

"It's good to get another win and keep a clean sheet," he said. "We've been on a good run of games and we need to continue it.

"In any game it's always good to get the first goal as quick as possible, then you can work your way into the game from there. That's what we did today.

"We know exactly what they'll bring to the game, physical, second balls, balls into our box I thought the boys at the back dealt with them really well and it was great to keep a clean sheet as well."
