'The mood has changed' Leeds United fans react to Bristol City victory as rivals all drop points

Leeds United got back to winning ways on Saturday afternoon after Luke Ayling's goal was enough to see Bristol City at Elland Road in a match which the hosts dominated.

Marcelo Bielsa named an unchanged starting XI following Tuesday night's draw at Brentford and his side were quickly out of the blocks, creating a series of early chances before taking a deserved lead when Luke Ayling stabbed the ball home after a series of blocked Leeds shots in the City penalty box.

As the wind and rain began to lash down, Leeds continued to dominate possession and create chances, but could not find a second before the break.

While the second half was more even with Leeds carving out a number of chances, the second goal would not come, but in the end it was not needed as the Whites registered their first clean sheet since the 2-0 wni over Hull on December 10.

Adding to Leeds' joy was the results of their fellow promotion contenders, with West Brom and Nottigham Forest drawing in the early kick-off, Fulham losing 3-0 at home to Barnsley and Brentford being held 1-1 at Birmingham City.

That means Leeds have cut the gap to leaders West Brom to four points and re-established a three point lead over third-placed Fulham.

Here's how Leeds fans on social media reacted to a successful afternoon.

Next up for Leeds is a home clash against Reading next Saturday.
