The money-saving scheme people access on popular shopping websites online then discover they are being charged £15 a month

People are signing up to a £15 a month cashback scheme without realising, it has been claimed.

However, the company, Complete Savings say that its terms and £15-a-month charges are very clearly stated.

Complete Savings is an online rewards savings programme where members pay a monthly fee to access benefits which include; 10% cashback when members shop online at over 1000 popular retailers.

It offers those making purchases a “free 30-day trial”.

However, if you do nothing at the end of the term and it automatically starts taking the monthly fee.

One review on leading online business review platform Trustpilot, claim from a customer that Complete Savings had taken £900 out of their account without them realising.

Alessandra Nisco said: "I was looking into my bank statements and noticed that a payment of £15 every month had been coming out of my account I am shocked to learn that since 2015, complete savings had taken a total of £900."

While Patricia Richardson added: "Only just realised that I have been subscribing to this company after spotting the direct debit payment of £15 going out of my account.

"I have no idea how (what I purchased and with which company that triggered the registration) or when I actually signed up to this company."

Online cashback site Complete Savings partners with retailers such as ebay, Debenhams, Look Fantastic, Superdrug and Trainline.

What do Complete Savings say?

A spokesman for the company said: "Complete Savings is an online rewards savings programme where members pay a monthly fee to access benefits which include; 10% cashback when members shop online at over 1000 popular retailers, and up to 20% off popular high street gift cards.

"The programme provides consistent, reliable savings all year round and helps people get great deals on fashion, electronics, travel, leisure, homeware, and more.

"Offering a minimum of 10% cashback, Complete Savings delivers the most consistently high cashback rates for shoppers in the UK. Members can save over £3000 a year when they make full use of the benefits.   

"There is an initial 30-day free trial, after which a monthly membership fee is charged."

The company say that this monthly fee is clearly referenced on the online sign up page.

"It is mentioned at least four times, including at the top of the page and above the field where people enter their 16 digit credit or debit card details.

"If a member has a question or wishes to cancel their membership they can do so at any time by email, by calling our freephone number 0800 389 6960, or by post, or on our website."
