'The moment we've all been waiting for' - Chelsea fans in the USA go nuts for Christian Pulisic

Chelsea opened up a new American audience when they signed Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund in January.

The American midfielder was a big-money signing, costing the Blues £56.8million from the German side.

He is the USA's one big football hope, with the dreams of a nation on his young 20-year-old shoulders.

But it has been a tough start to his Premier League career so far.

Pulisic has found it hard to adapt to the pace of the new league as he has been eased into action by head coach Frank Lampard.

He was seen in tears during the international break, having been subbed off after an hour of the USA's first defeat to Canada in 34 years and things looked to be getting the better of him.

But Lampard showed his faith in the American star by handing him a start against Burnley on Saturday evening's game live on Sky Sports, and his faith was rewarded.

Pulisic was bright throughout the first half and capitalised on a defensive mistake from Burnley to run through on goal before firing an effort past the dive of Nick Pope and into the back of the net for his first Premier League goal.

Burnley v Chelsea: Frank Lampard press conference in full

It was a moment he had been waiting for ever since his big-money move, but it was also a moment fans in America had been waiting for too.

The Twitter account @PLinUSA tweeted the reaction from the watching public in Austin, Texas straight after Pulisic scored and it's fair to say the crowd went wild!

There were chants of "USA, USA," as hundreds of fans watched on in a fanzone, while one supporter was heard saying "Christian Pulisic baby" at the end of the celebratory video.

And Pulisic, high in confidence, added his second goal for the Blues right before half-time.
