The moment traffic cops rammed balaclava-clad illegal off-road biker - before he legged it

This is the moment police rammed a balaclava-clad illegal off-road biker after he was spotted riding dangerously around the streets of Salford.

GMP's traffic division have released dash-cam footage of the incident in Swinton on Tuesday (April 6) at 7.10pm.

It shows the biker riding along the pavement on Park Street before coming to a stop behind a parked car.

The police car then rams into the front wheel of the bike, knocking the rider off.

He then runs towards the police car, before running in the opposite direction.

The biker made off by hitching a lift on the second bike.

The biker was caught on camera riding along the pavement (GMP Traffic)

But his motorbike was seized by police and will now be crushed.

GMP Traffic tweeted: "To those who put others at risk by riding illegal off-road bikes on the roads and pavements you will be dealt with robustly in order to protect the public.

"Traffic stopped this bike by Tactical Contact on Park St, Swinton so off to the crusher.

"These two riders (one waiting in the middle of the road) had been riding round with balaclavas on for a while.

"Until #traffic spoilt their fun. Unfortunately rider made off on the 2nd bike, but they'll not get this one back."
