The Only Way was Cabot for TOWIE star Mark Wright as a crowd of thousands helped him switch on the Christmas Lights at Cabot Circus tonight.
The TV personality performed a DJ set from the first floor of the shopping centre area, with crowds packed into the ground floor below and five deep on the bridges and areas on the mezzanine levels above.
The Christmas lights switch-on started with a magical light show from LED dance performers in the streets of the shopping centre, and a procession which began in the Quakers Friars area and ended in the middle of the centre with UV water drummers on the main stage in front of House of Fraser.
Mark Wright then played some songs, including All I Want For Christmas is You by Mariah Carey, as excitement built to the big countdown at around 6.20pm on Friday.
The lights switch-on was accompanied by ‘snow’ in the form of several huge confetti cannons, and a laser show, as the lights in the centre and down the ‘streets’ into Quakers Friars shone brightly for the first time.
This year’s theme appears to be reindeer - with a long line of illuminated reindeer head shapes above the main concourses, and standing reindeer outlines.
There was also a first glimpse too into the grotto area set up in an empty store on the first floor of the shopping centre. The real Father Christmas was on hand to give a preview to some lucky kids, with footballers Korey Smith, Aden Flint and Marlon Pack bringing their children along.
