The moment Ryan Christie suffers sickening head knock as Celtic star rushed to hospital

This is the moment Celtic star Ryan Christie was left sprawled on the Hampden turf after a brutal clash of heads with Dominic Ball.

The Aberdeen midfielder was shown a second yellow card for careering into his opponent during the first half of the Scottish Cup semi-final.

Christie has been rushed to hospital for a CT scan and graphic images show the disturbing incident in full.

There was immediate concern for Christie and his team-mates quickly called for paramedics to come on to the pitch.

The 23-year-old was treated on the turf before being taken off down the tunnel, with former manager Derek McInnes showing his support as he passed by on a stretcher.

Dons assistant Tony Docherty was then sent to the stands at half-time before Lewis Ferguson was dismissed in the second half for a shocking two-footed challenge on Tom Rogic.

McInnes followed Docherty into the stands on a miserable afternoon for the Pittodrie men.

Celtic currently lead 3-0 and are coasting into another Scottish Cup Final, where they are set to meet Hearts on May 25.
