This is the moment police broke up an impromptu rave in the city centre.
As the temperatures hit 20°C scores of people gathered in Castlefield Bowl on Wednesday evening.
Footage from the scene shows a large crowd singing and dancing on the concrete steps of the bowl while a a soundsystem plays the Robin S hit Show Me Love.
Speaking last night one local resident said: "There is currently an actual DJ set at Castlefield Bowl. I wish I was joking."
At around 10.20pm police began breaking up the party.
Witnesses said the crowd dispersed fairly peacefully apart from some throwing laughing gas cannisters and shouting insults at the police.
Manchester council's city centre spokesperson Coun Pat Karney tweeted: "They think they are immune and it's all over.
"They may have older family members who know it's not all over.
"We are going to see more of this in our parks and city centre spots.
"We need GMP to be on top of the social media that brings them together.
"Residents who are obeying Covid regulations will be disgusted at these raves and p*** ups."
After the rave was broken up hundreds of empty bottles and cans of beer, plastic bags and takeaway boxes were left strewn around the bowl.
Several people were pictured cleaning up the mess.
Councillor Rabnawaz Akbar tweeted: "It will get cleared but those who have left this mess are really selfish and have no sense of pride in their city."
Speaking last night residents who live in some of the canal boats moored nearby say the gatherings are a regular occurrence, but things got more ‘hectic’ this week.
They said several people called police on Wednesday night.
"It started getting ravey about 8pm," one resident said.
