The moment Liverpool's exact fate was perfectly predicted by Neil Warnock seven months ago

Neil Warnock could be accused of getting a few things wrong this season in his brave bid to keep Cardiff City in the Premier League.

But one thing he was 100% correct on was who would win the title and who would go on to be crowned kings of Europe.

For after the Bluebirds' 4-1 defeat at Liverpool way back on October 27, 2018, the Cardiff City boss was asked by the BBC TV Match of the Day cameras if the Merseysiders had what it takes to win the Premier League.

And Warnock said: "I think they (Liverpool) have got more chance of winning the Champions League, if I'm honest

"They're that type with the forwards they've got. I think City (Manchester) will just be a little too strong for them in the league.

"But I do feel this might be their year for the Champions League."

Perhaps what Warnock couldn't predict was that Liverpool would go on to amass a staggering 97 points - good enough to win most Premier League crowns - and still miss out on the title to Man City by a point.

But last weekend his Nostradamus moment panned out perfectly as Jurgen Klopp's Reds beat Spurs 2-0 in Madrid to win a sixth Champions League title.

It's just a shame for Warnock he couldn't be rubbing shoulders with Klopp and Man City boss Pep Guardiola in the Premier League dugout next term as the Bluebirds contemplate life back in the Championship after one season among English football's elite.
