The moment Frank Lampard showed his class following Leicester vs Chelsea draw

Frank Lampard declared himself pleased with a point away at Leicester City on Saturday.

The Foxes and the Blues played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the King Power, with Chelsea first going ahead, only to be pegged back, before Leicester went in front, to see the Blues haul themselves level.

And 2-2 was how it finished in the battle of third versus fourth in the Premier League table.

It meant Chelsea moved one point further clear of Manchester United and Tottenham in the race for a Champions League spot, albeit perhaps only for a matter of hours, with United hosting Wolves at Old Trafford in the evening kick-off.

Frank Lampard shows appreciation for brilliant fans

After the game, Lampard said: "I think a fair point, on play. The first half I think we were the better team. I know they had some good chances, we gifted them a few, but I think our work off the ball and some of it on it was good.

"To play with that personality. But that second half they had the opportunity of course late in the game. I think it evened itself out. I am pleased with a point."

That was during his own post-match press conference, but Lampard showed his class during home manager Brendan Rodgers' chat to the media after the final whistle.

With Lampard and his players and staff keen to get back to London quickly, with a winter break upon the Blues now, the Chelsea head coach wanted to make sure he said goodbye to Rodgers, whom he would have worked closely with while both were at Chelsea during Lampard's playing days and Rodgers' early days as a coach.

With Rodgers' press conference winding down, Lampard returned to the media room and interrupted conference the final question to come and say goodbye to him as he "didn't want to be rude".

It showed Lampard's class as he would have clearly been keen to get on the coach back to London, potentially with a holiday during the winter break planned.
