The moment an Ellesse-clad mum loses her cool - and assaults a man with a jumper

Police are hunting a woman caught on camera clobbering a man with a jumper.

The heated two-minute long knitwear fracas unfolded in Felling last Thursday.

Footage shows a woman, wearing an Ellesse jumper, lose her cool with a male.

Onlooker Robin Armstrong filmed the incident while working out in a nearby gym.

He said: "I noticed a man and women walking up the street with a child before a man approached them, she got in his face so I stopped the treadmill to see what was going on.

"From what I could hear, her child had a tantrum and kicked his car door while they were in it.

"He’s got out of the car to confront them (but) instead of an apology she got in his face.

"Clearly she kept putting her hand in his face forcing him to protect himself then she punched him in the face holding a jumper.

"Then I couldn't’t here exactly what was being said but it was heated until she walked off."

Northumbria Police has confirmed it is now looking into the incident.

“Shortly before 3pm on Thursday August 8, police received a report of an assault outside an address on High Street, Felling," said a force spokesperson.

“It was reported that a disagreement had taken place in the street, before a woman attacked a man.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”

ChronicleLive spoke with the man who was assaulted but he declined to comment citing the ongoing police investigation.
