The moment almost the entire Merthyr rugby team just barged over for an 84th minute try to win Wales' top league

Merthyr RFC have been crowned Welsh Premiership champions in the most dramatic fashion.

The Ironmen came back from 21-7 down at half-time against RGC to scrape home 28-24 with a match-winning try in the 84th minute.

The home team had to win to secure a third consecutive title and they did just that in the dying embers of an absorbing clash.

Centre Matthew Dwyer scored the decisive try as he bundled over the line with the help of almost the entire Merthyr team.

The win sparked wild celebrations at The Wern, with coach Dale McIntosh elated in the stands.

RGC had gone 14-0 ahead after just five minutes through Rhys Williams and Evan Yardley.

Merthyr fought back to level at 21-2, thanks largely to two tries by prop Louis Jones.

But Billy McBryde kicked RGC ahead again before Merthyr bombarded the visitors' try line to eventually get their reward.
