Drivers were surprised when a train was spotted coming through a busy roundabout on the back of a low loader.
Motorists were bewildered as the Northern Rail passenger train was spotted at the Allerton Road - Queens Drive roundabout at around 11am this morning. Mrs Ross, from Knotty Ash, told the ECHO that she could not believe her eyes.
She said: "We did not know what was going on - this train suddenly appeared in front of us. It was a surreal moment. I was driving but my husband managed to take some photographs.
"I think other drivers must have felt the same as me - it was a really, really strange moment.
"I then noticed that the train was on a low loader, with escort vans with flashing lights in front and behind. But for a moment all I saw was the train."
