The MMO icons behind EVE Online are lifting the lid on their upcoming sci-fi survival MMO

Eve Frontier appearing in Future Games Show.

Following the success of its recent community events, sci-fi survival MMO EVE Frontier is opening its doors by lifting the content restrictions early players have been under so far so they can show off what they've been busy creating.

In a new trailer as part of the Future Games Show Summer Showcase, Hilmar Petursson, CEO of CCP Games - the studio behind iconic spacefaring MMO EVE Online - introduced EVE Frontier as "an invitation for everyone who has had the idea in their brain to make a game."

With that in mind - and acknowledging that one of the best ways to make a game is to start by modding an existing game - Petursson says he and his team are inviting players "to come and build with us" inside Frontier's sci-fi horror sandbox. Billed as a harcore survival MMO, Frontier lets you loose across an entire galaxy, to create, explore, and discover whatever might be lurking out there.

Currently, access to EVE Frontier has been limited to those with Founder Access. While that will still be the case until the game's full launch, the team is now ready to lift the sharing restrictions that have been in place so far, meaning that those who have already been busy exploring the galaxy - and those who are about to jump in - will be able to share their creations however they like.

Building from the incredible reputation of space-sim MMO EVE Online, EVE Frontier looks set to carry on CCP's reputation for enabling player freedom across an entire galaxy. There's no full release date in sight yet, but with Founder Access, you won't need to let that slow you down.
