The mixed Swansea City player ratings as experienced head loses it but others impress at Nottingham Forest

ERWIN MULDER 5

Making his first start of the 2019/20 campaign, the Dutchman was helpless with Sammy Ameobi's first strike. His distribution was impressive, but he got nowhere near Ameobi's second goal.

KYLE NAUGHTON 4

Did what you'd expect for long periods. Simple but effective from the experienced defender, although his red card was reckless, and perhaps costly, to say the least.

MIKE VAN DER HOORN 6

Starting for the first time since January, the Dutchman was slick in possession, although he couldn't close down Ameobi for Forest's first half goal. Solid in the air, but had to be replaced in the second half.

MARC GUEHI 6

Another solid showing from the central defender who is continuing to impress in the absence of other key defensive players.

CONNOR ROBERTS 6

Offered a fair amount of support on the right, and spurned a fine chance with the score at 1-0 to Swansea. Worked right until the end.

JAY FULTON 6

Took a knock for his troubles in the first half, but it was a typically combative display from the Scot. Subbed.

MATT GRIMES 7

Another top showing from the captain. Helped Swansea control the game from the middle of the park at times. Did his best to stem the tide when Forest got on top after the restart.

JAKE BIDWELL - Star Man 7

Had something of a field day on the left flank at times and got the assist for Rhian Brewster's opener. Harder after the restart, and could have done better for the second goal, but still a good showing.

CONOR GALLAGHER 6

Such a slick operator early on and played a key role in Swansea's first goal. Booked in the first half while on defensive duties. Subbed in the second half as he clearly looked tired.

ANDRE AYEW 6

Work rate was tremendous as always, and he created numerous chances for others. Won Swansea a penalty and converted it himself to take his tally to 17 for the campaign. Influence waned in the second half.

RHIAN BREWSTER 6

Emphatic finish to put Swansea ahead early on. Had precious little else in terms of service, though. Subbed.

Subs

Ben Cabango (for van der Hoorn) - A few nervy moments in the second half. 6

Bersant Celina (for Fulton) - Didn't get enough of the ball in attacking areas, although the Swans did go down to 10 men. 6

George Byers (for Gallagher) - Very late coming on. Booked. N/A

Jordon Garrick (for Brewster) - Too late to make an impact. N/A
