The mixed Cardiff City player ratings as Joe Ralls inspires recovery after defensive clangers at Millwall

Alex Smithies 5

Will be very disappointed with that Smith goal. Was caught out positionally by the cross and allowed the striker an easy finish.

Leandro Bacuna 5

Did very little wrong, defensively, but still looks uncomfortable and sometimes has to use his pace and muscle to get him out of trouble.

Sean Morrison 6

A largely assured performance from the skipper, although put in a couple of ill-timed tackles early on. His 250th City appearance.

Curtis Nelson 5

Was outdone by Matt Smith for his goal. Outleapt and put City right behind the eight ball. A little blip of a performance from the centre back.

Joe Bennett 7

Was a largely encouraging display down the left. Picked up some lovely positions and found acres of space. Crosses were hit and miss but when on point they were dangerous.

Harry Wilson 7

Played a couple of lovely passes, especially in the second half, but couldn't make the difference. Had a chance from point-blank range denied in the dying minutes.

Marlon Pack 6

Did what he does very well again. Put in a monster challenge to deny Jed Wallace a clear one on one early on. Nice passing tempo, too.

Joe Ralls 7 (star man)

Made his 250th appearance for the Bluebirds, too, and was busy in the middle of the park. Tried to force the pace and really get things going with piercing passes.

Junior Hoilett 6

Dovetailed nicely with Bennett on that left-hand side and whipped in a fierce cross to set up a big Glatzel chance just before the break.

Robert Glatzel 6

Probably looked Cardiff's most likely goalscorer in the first half. Made a great chance for himself early on which he sent over the bar before seeing a bullet header denied before the break.

Kieffer Moore 7

Was relatively quiet for the most part. Didn't have many clear-cut chances but sent one left-footed effort wide in the second half. But late on he took his goal superbly. Had a great header saved late on, too.

Subs

Sheyi Ojo (on for Hoilett 61) 5 - Brought on to add a little creativity but just didn't influence as much as he'd have liked.

Josh Murphy (on for Glatzel 75) 7 - Played an absolute killer pass between the defenders to set Kieffer Moore free for his goal and did brilliantly to present Wilson with a gilt-edged chance minutes later.
