The mixed Cardiff City fans' reaction as Neil Harris announced as Neil Warnock's successor

Cardiff City have announced the appointment of former Millwall boss Neil Harris as their new manager, following the departure of Neil Warnock last week.

Harris, who walked away from the South London side earlier this season, arrives with plenty of issues to resolve in the Welsh capital after what has been a difficult return to the second tier after suffering Premier League relegation back in May.

With matches against the likes of Stoke City and Barnsley on the horizon, the opportunity is there for Cardiff to build some momentum and for Harris to bring back some positivity to the club's fortunes.

However, the immediate reaction to his arrival in South Wales has not proven to be too popular for many supporters on social media, who have been left uninspired by his arrival.

Others, meanwhile, are slightly more optimistic and are rightly prepared to give Harris a chance before issuing their verdict on his new position, although it is clear that the general consensus is that he will have to win over the majority of the fanbase.

The best way to do that is by securing victories and he has a week to prepare for his first match with the Bluebirds, who travel to face high-flying Charlton Athletic next weekend.
