The mixed bag of Cardiff City player ratings vs Nottingham Forest as special talent steals the show off the bench

By Glen Williams

Dillon Phillips 6

His distribution looked a little rocky and was nervy when the ball was passed back to him. Grabban's goal flew past him after a deflection. Did well late on, though.

Perry Ng 5

Offered one or two flickers going forward but not at his best defensively. Had a few nervy moments after the break.

Sean Morrison 5

Done for a lack of pace when Max Lowe fired in his cross from Grabban. Got a little more involved up front after the break.

Aden Flint 7

More all-action in both boxes for Flint. Didn't do too much wrong. Had one bullet header saved by Samba in the second half. Excellent in the air again.

Curtis Nelson 6

Made a big block to deny Zinckernagel early on. Continued his good work after the break, too. Not a bad performance from the centre-half.

Joel Bagan 5

Still feeling his way into things. A difficult start for him at both ends of the pitch, but grew into it.

Will Vaulks 5

Nothing really came off for him in the first half. Fired a few shots off but none of them troubled the keeper. Booked when his temper flared but was better in the second half, his cross leading to Colwill's first goal.

Marlon Pack 5

Caught napping when tracking Grabban for his goal. Striker got away from him before tucking away.

Sam Bowen 6

Got to feel for him a little, being thrown in at the last minute. Didn't do anything spectacular or anything wrong, really. Made way for Colwill.

Mark Harris 7

One of the brightest players on the pitch from a Bluebirds standpoint. Tried to offer a point of difference, pulling defenders and running channels. Pressed well from the front, too. Missed a volley in the second half.

James Collins 5

Another performance in which he tried hard but never looked like reaping the rewards.

Kieffer Moore (Collins 56) 8 - Made such a difference, a calibre above when he came on. Won headers, linked up play and created the chance for Colwill.

Rubin Colwill (Bowen 56) 9 (Star man) - Wow, what an impact. Got that early goal and then had a spring in his step. His best in a Cardiff shirt. A special cameo.

Kieron Evans (Harris 87) NA - Great for him, a first-team debut and richly deserved.
