The million-pound Merseyside streets where houses carry an eye-watering price tag

The most expensive streets on Merseyside have been revealed - and each of the luxury postcodes carries a price tag of well over a million pounds.

Nestled in the region's most exclusive areas, streets in Formby and Southport predictably topped the list compiled by property website Zoopla.

The site calculated the average value of homes on some of Merseyside's most sought-after streets, with each one breaking the million pound mark.

A house on Shireburn Road, in Formby, which topped the list of Merseyside's most expensive streets , could set you back by more than £1.7m.

The luxury enclave is nestled down a secluded private road and lined with plush pads, which overlook Formby Golf Club.

According to Zoopla , the average value of a home on this street is £1,700,956 - making it the priciest postcode in the whole of Merseyside.

In second place is Selworthy Road in Southport , where the average property value is £1,081,644.

Overlooking the Royal Birkdale Golf Club and the coast beyond, the street is lined with plush pads and mini mansions among the most impressive properties in Merseyside.

The third most expensive street is also in Southport - and it's just around the corner from Selworthy Road in the luxury Birkdale enclave.

Houses on Sandringham Road have an average value of £1,053,977, according to Zoopla, thanks to the secluded location, sprawling properties and proximity to so many desirable ammenities.

In fourth place on Zoopla's luxury property list is Victoria Road, commonly referred to as 'Millionaire's Row' due to the number of plush properties lining the street.

Popular with football stars and coaching staff, a home in this Formby location comes with a hefty asking price.

Zoopla estimates that the average asking price for a home on Victoria Road is £1,039,120.

Taking the fifth slot in Merseyside's most expensive properties list Owen Road in Prescot , where the average value is £1,017,655.

The sleepy Rainhill road is populated with gated homes, all set back from the secluded, tree-lined street.
