Californian folk duo the Milk Carton Kids (Kenneth Pattengale and Joey Ryan) are back in Australia following the release of their third album, Monterey. Since the pair started playing together in 2011, they have received a Grammy nomination for best folk album (2013) and won the Americana Music Association’s duo group of the year (2014). They’ve been compared to the Everly Brothers, as well as Simon and Garfunkel, with a sound that blends jazz and classical into americana folk.
