'The Mike Dean of radio' - some Liverpool fans can't believe pundit's shock Arsenal claim

Arsenal rose back into the Premier League's top-four with victory over Watford on Monday night but the result was far from plain sailing for Unai Emery's men.

The Gunners took the lead through fortuitous fashion after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang put Ben Foster under pressure and the Hornets stopped kicked his clearance into the Arsenal man, diverting it into the goal.

Troy Deeney's dismissal for a swinging arm on Lucas Torreira followed, putting the game further in Arsenal's favour, but the Gunners still needed big moments from Bernd Leno and substitute Ainsley Maitland-Niles to secure all three points and a first away clean sheet of the season.

It is a match that is unlikely to live long in the memory of Arsenal fans but one pundit seemed to love the game, as Dean Saunders bizarrely heralded Aubameyang's 18th Premier League goal of the campaign as the best in the league this season.

Mavropanos the answer to defensive woes, Bernd Leno a dream signing - Arsenal talking points

“Aubameyang’s goal for me, this is going to sound stupid, is goal of the season,” he told TalkSport.

“You look at Salah’s goal and think, how can that be better? Aubameyang has chased a lost cause, which is a goal he’s got out of nothing and closed down Ben Foster and turned it into a goal.

“A spectacular goal, for me personally being a striker and coaching strikers, I enjoyed Aubameyang’s goal more than Salah’s goal because he turned a backpass, he didn’t have to do it, into a goal. He’s made a goal out of absolutely nothing and won them the game.
