The Mets blew a 6-run lead in bottom of the 9th for the most Mets loss ever

The New York Mets scored five runs in the top of the ninth of their game against the Washington Nationals on Tuesday night, which gave them a nice six-run lead heading into the bottom of the inning.

All that stood in their way of a win were three little outs.

But then the Mets somehow gave up seven runs and lost the game on Kurt Suzuki’s 3-run walk-off home run off of Edwin Diaz.

That sure did escalate quickly for the Mets, who suffered one of the most embarrassing losses that I’ve seen in quite some time.
