Wales has seen its first widespread snow of this winter .
Several parts of the country woke up to a smattering of the white stuff on Saturday and even coastal areas near Cardiff saw some sleet first thing.
Further inland, and to the north of the country, snow fell more heavily and settled in places. But the wintry conditions are not expected to last long with a chilly Saturday expected to give way to a warmer and brighter day on Sunday before heavy rain on Monday.

Other parts of Mid Wales saw snow as well. This was taken on the A458 between Mallwyd and Foel:
Shortly after this image was taken traffic monitors reported the A458 was blocked in both directions with heavy traffic due to snow between the A490 at Welshpool and the B4395 at Llangadfan rendering the road "impassable".

Authorities have been warning people to take care driving in the snow, especially in rural areas.
In a statement North Wales Police said: "Please be aware that the A470 through the Bwlch Oerddrws pass is hazardous this morning due to snow. Please take care whilst driving."
How long is the snow expected to continue?
Unfortunately for those hoping for Monday off work and school the mercury is expected to rise over the next few days.
The rest of Saturday
After this snowy morning it is looking like a chilly day. A Met Office spokeswoman said: "There could be a few other flakes over the day but they won't be sticking.
"It will then warm up for the rest of the day. There could be rain in the far west which will edge eastwards across the country."
"Overnight it will gradually become drier with a few clear spells later. There will be strong winds at first but these will ease."
Sunday
According to the Met Office spokeswoman Sunday is the time to do any outdoor activities.
She said: "Sunday will be largely dry for most of Wales and there will be sunny spells.
"It will be about average for this time of year with temperatures about 10C in the day and about 3C overnight".
Monday onwards
There will be heavy rain for the whole of Wales on Monday morning which the Met Office say will land during people's morning commute.
The spokeswoman said: "The rest of the week could be relatively dry and clear. There could be rain overnight. There may be snow in the Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia but none of it will stick."
