The Met Office says Hurricane Humberto will bring rain, wind and an end to Wales' summer

Hurricane Humberto is set to soak the United Kingdom next week with heavy rain, marking the end of a spell of summer weather.

Before the arrival of the ex-tropical storm, temperatures are set to soar into the mid-20s across Wales, with blazing sunshine.

Cardiff will reach a whopping 22°C on Saturday while Porthmadog surges to 24°C.

But the glorious weather will soon come to an end as remnants of Humberto move in.

Simon Partridge, a Met Office forecaster, told the Mirror Online : "The remnants of Hurricane Humberto are expected to arrive across the UK on late Monday.

"It will bring some outbreaks of rain and some stronger winds. There's potential for some strong winds and maybe a few gales around western coasts.

"Next week will feel more autumnal than this week and will be a more unsettled affair."

Those spending time outdoors will want to trade summer attire for autumn coats and jumpers.

By Wednesday, temperatures could be as many as ten degrees lower than those predicted for this week.

Highs around 16-18°C will be widespread.

Overnight, low temperatures are forecast to drop to a chilly 12°C.
