The Met Office issues yellow weather warning for heavy rain in Wales

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain across most of Wales later this week.

The warning is in place from 12am on Friday morning, but parts of North Wales will not be affected by the rain.

Anglesey , Pwllhelli and St Asaph are outside the yellow weather warning area.

Heavy rain is expected to continue into Saturday, which may bring transport disruption and flooding, according to the Met Office.

The Met Office has warned to expect a small chance of flooding, surface water on roads which will lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.

There is also a small chance that some communities become cut off by flooded roads.

The Met Office tweeted out the warning, and said: "Heavy and persistent rainfall will move across Wales and northern England at the end of the week."

The weather up until Friday will be mostly clear with sunny spells.

Fog and frost is also expected on Tuesday and Wednesday morning but there will be highs of 13°C to 14°C.
