Former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that he has been in touch with some of the Spurs players in recent weeks.
The Argentine left north London in November after a difficult start to the new season, with former Chelsea and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho coming in as his successor in north London.
Pochettino has not taken another job in football management as yet, but has recently spoken out in a FIFA video about the coronavirus outbreak that has led to the suspension of football in England and across Europe.
The Premier League has confirmed in a joint statement with the FA and EFL that there will be no professional football in England before April 30 at least, with the number of cases of coronavirus increasing in the UK.
And Pochettino has advised his former players at Tottenham that football has to take a back seat during this time.
“I told them that there is no need to be at risk and that football takes second place to health,” he Radio Del Plata, as quoted by TNT Sports.
“It seems good to me that measures have already been taken. It is the best way to control the virus until a cure is found.”
In the FIFA video, which also features former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and current Spurs boss Jose Mourinho, Pochettino also gave advice to everyone regarding coronavirus.
“It starts with your hands,” he said.
“Please wash your hands frequently, if possible with an alcohol-based hand solution.”
