The message has to be made loud and clear – EU citizens are welcome here

Scots remain European citizens – for the time being.

But the hard-line interpretation of a narrow referendum result is about to change that, possibly for ever.

And the fall-out from this catastrophic Brexit negotiation period is having a major impact on real lives.

For citizens of other European nations who have made Scotland their home, Brexit must feel like a cruel snub.

These are people who came here to live, work, raise families and pay into a system they were proud to be a part of.

With Scotland's ageing population, it's time to get wiser about the oldest in society

Nicola Sturgeon has written an open letter to all EU citizens who moved to this country.

She is desperate to get the message across that they are valued – and they should stay.

Whatever the public might think of Brussels bureaucracy, the message has to be made loud and clear – EU citizens are welcome here.

Unions are furious at the lack of detail on wages, which are being delayed by a week while a new system is put in place.

Social media can be used as a platform which opens a window on the worst of humanity

No clear assurances have been given about what will happen to that extra week’s pay.

It’s no surprise staff plan a UK-wide day of action.

This kind of treatment should have no place in our NHS. Contractors ISS need to remember that – or face the inevitable industrial consequences.

Lor of laughs

Lorraine Kelly is saying what any reasonable human already thinks.

But her expletive-filled tirade at Piers Morgan was all for laughs.

Well, that’s what she says anyway...
