The meal Prince William cooked to woo Kate Middleton

Kate Middleton has revealed the dish Prince William cooked to woo her - spaghetti bolognese.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge appeared on a special one-off show, A Berry Royal Christmas, on Monday night (December 16).

And it was explained Prince William’s cooking helped bring them together at University, The Mirror reports.

The Royal couple met at University of St Andrews in Scotland, where they studied in 2001.

“In our University days he used to cook all sorts of meals - I think that was when he was trying to impress me Mary,” Kate said.

“Things like bolognese, sauces and things like that.”

But she added: “William has to put up with my cooking most of the time now,” before the Duke replied: “It’s the reason I’m so skinny!”

William was later asked if he’d be cooking with their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis over Christmas.

He said: “We are talking about doing mince pies this year. I love mince pies. If the children want to cook mince pies then I’m happy to do that.”

Kate then added: “We grow our own vegetables too.

“We’ve got carrots, beans, beetroot - a massive favorite. Louis absolutely loves beetroot,” before expressing her enjoyment for baking.

“I love making the cake,” she shared. “It’s become a bit of a tradition that I stay up until midnight with ridiculous amounts of cake mix and icing and I make far too much. But I love it.”
