The McMuffin is back at McDonald's restaurants across Ireland from today

The McMuffin is back on the menu at McDonald's restaurants across Ireland.

There will be a limited breakfast menu available in 80 stores from today, Wednesday.

The company won't be serving porridge or its ham and cheese toastie for now, but three items from the McMuffin range, a breakfast roll and pancakes are all amongst the options returning.

A spokeswoman said: "We have seen such a brilliant reaction to breakfast across our pilot restaurants, the return of the McMuffin is proving incredibly popular.

"We are therefore delighted to confirm that 80 Irish restaurants will add breakfast to the menu from today.

"Our menu will still be limited, we will unfortunately not be serving porridge or our ham and cheese toastie for now.

"Our opening hours continue to vary, the quickest way to check your local restaurant will be via  www.mcdonalds.ie.”

And seven McDonald's stores in Ireland without drive-thrus have reopened, providing a walk-in takeaway services.

McDonald's on Barronstrand Street in Waterford will reopen as a walk-in takeaway with breakfast.

Stores in Mahon Point, Dun Laoghaire, O'Connell Street 2, Limerick 2, Liffey Valley and Crumlin will be open from 11am on Wednesday but will not be serving breakfast yet.
