The Matrix 4: Jada Pinkett Smith rumoured to return as Niobe as Neil Patrick Harris casting confirmed

The cast of the upcoming Matrix 4 could be boosted by the return of Jada Pinkett Smith, who is reportedly set to star in the upcoming movie.

The actress previously starred as Niobe in the Matrix sequels Reloaded and Revolutions, and now Deadline are reporting that she’s in talks to appear in the new film.

Pinkett Smith gave one of the most high-profile performances of her career in the sequels, starring as the human rebel who joins the war against the Machines and the Matrix.

While Pinkett Smith’s return has yet to be confirmed, it has officially been announced that How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris has joined the cast in an unspecified role.

Elsewhere, Keanu Reeves will be reprising his role as Neo in the new sequel, with Carrie-Anne Moss also back as Trinity.

Aquaman and The Greatest Showman star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II was also cast in the film recently, although his role is also being kept under wraps.

The film that will be co-written, directed and produced by Lana Wachowski, who co-created the Matrix with Lilly Wachowski.

The Matrix 4 has yet to receive a release date, although the movie is expected to go into production in early 2020.
