Spurs have confirmed that Giovani Lo Celso will be out injured for around six weeks.
The midfielder picked up a hip injury on international duty for Argentina, with the club confirming that he will undergo a period of rehabilitation and is expected to return to training towards the end of October.
The 23-year-old moved to north London in the summer on an initial one-year loan deal with an option to buy after months of speculation surrounding his future.
Lo Celso has had little impact on the first team so far this season, playing just 44 minutes of football following his late arrival to pre-season after the Copa America in the summer. He made his Spurs debut in the 2-2 draw against Manchester City, coming off the bench.
And now that the club have confirmed he will be out until around the end of October, meaning that he is likely to miss at least 10 club matches, and the next international break.
Lo Celso's injury is a further blow for Spurs, with their other headline-grabbing summer signing Tanguy Ndombele sidelined with a minor thigh injury.
Eric Dier is also yet to play this season due to a hip injury, but could make his comeback after the international break.
