The Masters latest weather forecast - Will play be interrupted this week?

Poor weather conditions interrupted the practice rounds at The Masters for the second consecutive day on Tuesday.

Play was halted on Monday afternoon due to heavy rain and less than 24 hours later there were thunderstorms and lightning heading for Augusta National.

The course was then evacuated and closed for a short time before the gates re-opened on Tuesday afternoon.

Long hitters like Rory McIlroy , Dustin Johnson and Justin Thomas will be enjoying the softer conditions, but Augusta's SubAir system will hopefully dry out the course in time for the first round on Thursday.

But will play be affected over the course of the week and is there a chance the weather conditions could interrupt or delay the tournament?

The Par 3 Contest on Wednesday should go ahead with no issues whatsoever with only 10% chance of rain and temperatures reaching 27°C.

The good weather will continue through Thursday to Saturday with very similar conditions over the first three days.

There won't be much sunshine, but temperatures will be around 30°C with little wind for the players to negotiate.

However, on Sunday there are concerns that the final round could be interrupted with thunderstorms on the cards in the afternoon.

Hopefully there will be no need for a Monday finish but the good news is that there shouldn't be any problems if that's the case, with near perfect conditions expected.
