Jon Rahm scores ‘ludicrous’ skipping hole-in-one at The Masters warm-up

Jon Rahm has celebrated his 26th birthday with an incredible hole-in-one shot at The Masters, scoring an ace after skipping his ball multiple times across a water hazard.

It was the world number two’s second hole-in-one in as many days at the tournament, following a 205-metre effort on Monday.

Sadly both came during practice rounds.

The Spanish golfer scored his ace on Tuesday as part of a traditional pre-tournament challenge in which competitors attempt to skip their ball as many times as possible over a pond and onto the 16th green at the Georgia major.

After garnering four skips, Rahm’s ball appeared to defy physics, spinning its way circuitously across the green before toppling against the pit of the flag.

Fans and pundits reacted with disbelief on social media, with sports reporter Tyler Greever labelling it “one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen in sports”.

Rahm himself later tweeted footage of the shot, captioned: “Two hole-in-one’s in two days - Happy Birthday to me!”
