The Masters 2019 prize money revealed with HUGE sum on offer for winner

Golf’s most prestigious tournament - The Masters - is in its final stretch.

It’s not just the the pride in wearing the Green Jacket the players are competing for, with this years prize pool coming in at a whopping $11million dollars (£8.4million).

Patrick Reed was victorious last year, and if the honour of winning his first major wasn’t enough, his triumph saw him pocket a winning prize fund of just shy of $2million dollars (£1.5million).

Rory McIlroy was the pre-tournament favourite, and comes in to the first Major of the year off the back of a $2.25million dollar payout for winning the Players Championship in March.

Each of the top 24 players receives a pay out of over $100,000 (£76,000) while the financial breakdown means that even the players that fail to make the cut still pocket $10,000 (£7,600) for their efforts.

Here is a full breakdown of the prize funds for the top 20 finishers:

  • 1st: $1.98 million (£1.53 million)
  • 2nd: $1.188 million (£854,000)
  • 3rd: $748,000 (£571,000)
  • 4th: $528,000 (£403,000)
  • 5th: $440,000 (£336,000)
  • 6th: $396,000 (£302,000)
  • 7th: $368,500 (£281,000)
  • 8th: $341,000 (£260,000)
  • 9th: $319,000 (£243,000)
  • 10th: $297,000 (£226,000)
  • 11th: $275,000 (£210,000)
  • 12th: $253,000 (£193,000)
  • 13th: $231,000 (£176,000)
