The Masked Singer viewers confused by 'obvious' clue as Rubbish's identity 'rumbled'

The Masked Singer viewers were confused by an "obvious" clue on tonight's show.

Joel Dommett returned to host a special clue fest edition of the popular ITV programme. Judges Davina McCall, Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan have been in their detective chairs trying to guess the voice behind the costume.

Rubbish was the first celebrity to perform on tonight's episode and wowed fans with a rendition of Ruby by the Kaiser Chiefs. The character revealed more clues about their identity in a video package before the performance.

Rita speculated Rubbish could be comedian Paddy McGuinness as the bin referred to the 49-year-old's presenting stint on Take Me Out. The character also posed alongside a Fast Car, which the singer saw was a reference to his role as a Top Gear Host.

However, viewers on Twitter wondered if the clues were too obvious as they agreed it must be the Bolton comic.

Viewers think Rubbish is Paddy McGuinness (ITV)

Suzy said: "Is Paddy McGuiness too obvious for Rubbish?"

Lily commented: "Rubbish is definitely Paddy McGuinness!!"

Nicky posted: "Rubbish is Paddy McGuiness"

Jade tweeted: "Rubbish has to be Paddy McGuinness"
