The Masked Singer viewers '100% uncover' Monster's identity right away

The Masked Singer returned on Sunday night on ITV and moments after the first contestant took to the stage TV watchers were convinced they had 'uncovered' who was disguised as Monster.

Shorty after the first contestant took to stage - dressed in an electric blue fluffy bodysuit - to belt out a rendition of Pharrell Williams' Happy TV watchers were sure that they knew who was the star.

Using  Twitter to share their ideas a number of fans were convinced the masked celebrity was American singer and rapper CeeLo Green.

A convinced watcher typed: "That is 100% CeeLo Green. I said it as soon as they opened their mouth, and I’m sticking with it. #TheMaskedSingerUK ."

"Definitely CeeLo Green in Monster!! So obvious from the get go and his love for 80s music makes sense with the Tony Hadley idolisation! #TheMaskedSingerUK @MaskedSingerUK ," contributed another viewer.

A third wrote: "It is Cee Lo Green - nexttttt #TheMaskedSingerUK ."

"The voice sounds just like Cee Lo Green... but it does seem obvious! I love this show #TheMaskedSingerUK @MaskedSingerUK ." and "monster literally sounds like cee lo green, i called it when he started singing. #TheMaskedSingerUK ," detected others.

Panellists, TV presenter Davina McCall, chat show king Jonathan Ross, singer Rita Ora and The Hangover actor Ken Jeong alongside the viewers attempted to uncover the identity of the masked performer.

Rita did muse that it could be CeeLo but was not sure.

Patsy Palmer was unveiled as the first star of The Masked Singer on Saturday night (ITV)

The Masked Singer unveiled its first celebrity hidden behind a costume on Saturday night.

As the premiere of the new singing contest drew to an end it was revealed that EastEnders legend Patsy Palmer- best known for playing Bianca Jackson in the London based soap - was on the line-up.

Patsy left the panel in shock when she tugged the head off her butterfly costume to reveal herself.

The surreal gameshow began with 12 famous faces taking on a masked identity and becoming a fantastic character which will see them disguised until they are voted off.
