The Masked Singer's Sausage 'can't' be Stacey Solomon as she reveals reason why after Joe Swash row

Stacey Solomon has revealed why she 'can't' be Sausage on The Masked Singer after declaring she's even had a falling out with fiance Joe Swash about the rumours.

There are now just hours to go until the series 2 final and since the new run of the off the wall ITV show started on Boxing Day, former X Factor finalist Stacey has seen her name in the frame to be Sausage due to the character's accent, singing voice and various clues including once being told she 'looks like a popstar, sounds like a popstar' and singing the line 'they call me Stacey' in the group performance of That's Not My Name last week.

While Sheridan Smith is the odds on favourite with bookies to be Sausage, speculation surrounding Stacey's involvement has even led to other half Joe accusing her of lying to him about her whereabouts and her Loose Women colleagues becoming increasingly suspicious.

But, whether she was just attempting to throw them off or in fact telling the truth, Stacey revealed on Friday's show there's a big reason why it's not her.

She said: "Joe genuinely thinks because I do a bit more work on a Friday and Saturday than other days of the week that I'm going off to dress as Sausage on The Masked Singer!

"But also, lets be fair; I'm assuming it's a pork sausage and how inappropriate would it be for me, a lovely Jewish girl, to be dancing around as a pork sausage?!"

Revealing how Joe aired his suspicions, Stacey added: "He got the hump with me last week - I was doing a voice over for my book but he was like 'really where were you? Because if I find out you're the Sausage....!"

Other names who have crept into the frame to be Sausage in recent weeks include singer Joss Stone, singer and 'queen of cruising' Jane McDonald and another Stacey, documentary maker and Strictly winner Stacey Dooley.

The Masked Singer continues on Saturday night when the five remaining acts all bid for a place in the final.
