Ne-Yo has revealed that he struggled to keep his Masked Singer stint under wraps.
The 41-year-old singer, who was unveiled as Badger on the ITV show over the weekend, found himself in a spot of bother when his four-year-old son, Shaffer, ‘instantly’ blew his cover.
Although viewers and even the four judges were left baffled by Badger’s unexpected identity, Ne-Yo couldn’t pull the wool over his son’s eyes.
Lifting the lid on the dilemma on Heart Radio, the Miss Independent hitmaker revealed: “The rest of my family, I kept it from them because I thought it'd be cool to see if they actually knew it was me.
"The only person who caught it was my four-year-old son, he said, 'That bear sounds like daddy!'
"My mum called me, she was watching, and she said, 'Shaffer caught you!', I was like, 'What!'"
Ne-Yo shares 10-year-old Madilyn and nine-year-old Mason with his ex Monyetta Shaw.
He’s also a proud dad to two-year-old Roman and Shaffer with wife Crystal Renay.
Saturday night's show saw Joss Stone win The Masked Singer as Sausage as Aston Merrygold came in third place as Robin.
After he was unmasked in second place, Ne-Yo called the show "the time of my life" as he opened up about his experience behind the enormous and adorable Badger costume.
"I’ve been a fan of the show from the start! Really, I just wanted to try and see how far I could go without being identified," he said.
"I’m not the chattiest person, even in my personal life, do, for me it wasn’t terribly difficult to keep the secret at all.
"Aside from it being terribly hot, I loved my mask and costume! The Rock n’ Roll Badger has become a part of my life and will forever hold a special place in my heart.”
