The Masked Singer’s Gabrielle says she nearly quit show and had to be 'talked down from a ledge'

Gabrielle has revealed that she came very close to quitting The Masked Singer after just performing just once on the ITV show.

The London-born singer was revealed to be Harlequin over the weekend and said it has been "so amazing" since taking off her mask.

Speaking exclusively to press including Mirror Online, Gabrielle said she has loved the response so far but it wasn't always smooth sailing behind the scenes of the popular TV show.

"There were times that I struggled with the panic attacks and the heat," she admitted. "I think at one stage I could have given up, I didn't mean to.

"Initially I was like, 'how hard can this be?' but until you get it on and they tell you, 'you're going to come and sing in that today', I was like, 'why didn't you let me have rehearsals in it from the beginning?' because I would have run!

"In fact, the first day I had my full costume on I was saying, 'call my lawyers, I'm going home, I can't do this, this is going to be the end of my career'.

"Literally like being talked down from a ledge because I was so panicked, so stressed," the singer continued.

"I was pulling and having the most strops and saying, 'I'm not coming back on Monday'. There was a lot of behind-the-scenes toing and froing, bless them, everybody was amazing.

"They were trying to accommodate me and trying to adjust the mask, they really were amazing. All I can say is wow, it was not easy.

"I know I shouldn't complain, but I was just being a big baby really," Gabrielle added.

The Dreams hitmaker went on to admit that she has no idea who the three finalists could be and refused to even guess names.

"I'm giving no guesses, but I will definitely be tuning in," she said.

The Masked Singer final airs on Saturday 13 February on ITV at 7pm.
