The Masked Singer returns tomorrow but who could be Bagpipes?

Fans of The Masked Singer will soon be chanting ‘Take It Off!’ at their TV screens as the show returns tomorrow.

After last series, Scottish fans of the show asked for a Scottish representation and it appears in the new series, the producers have listened!

Meet Bagpipes.

The launch tag for Bagpipes says: “The pride of Scotland will be hoping to hit the high notes.”

Donning traditional red tartan and some long lashes, it's hard to know anything about Bagpipes yet but here's a few guesses on ' who's that behind the mask '.

Rod Stewart

Well he has a good set of pipes on him and while the singer isn’t Scottish the London-born superstar did more for tartan in the 70s than even punk’s fashion queen Vivienne Westwood.

Sir Rod loves all things Scottish and regularly wears tartan.

Lulu

Lulu, who was born Marie McDonald McLaughlin Lawrie, has always said she is proud of her Scottish roots, she previously said: “I may not live in Glasgow but I love being Scottish and I am so proud to be Scots."

During lockdown Lulu joined Gary Barlow for a virtual duet so there is a chance it also could be her under the mask.

Lorraine Kelly

Despite now residing in London, Lorraine is a proud Scot!

She often wears tartan whilst presenting her ITV show, so she could also be a contender.

Lewis Capaldi

One of Scotland's biggest singers at the moment is none-other than Lewis Capaldi!

He's been MIA recently working on a new album so maybe being Bagpipes could be the perfect opportunity to make a big comeback?

Tom Walker

It may get confusing when the Leave a Light On singer speaks with an English accent but he was actually born in Scotland and although brought up in England reverts to a Scottish accent when he’s up here.

He also did a version of Leave A Light On with the Red Hot Chilli Pipers.

Lawrence Chaney

Lawrence was the winner of Ru Paul's Drag Race UK last year and during their time on the BBC show Lawrence often referenced their roots through their choice of outfit.

Lawrence is no stranger to the stage either so, could it be?

Marti Pellow

The former Wet Wet Wet frontman has one of the best singing voices to ever come out of Scotland.

To some ears bagpipes can be a bit annoying and it has to be said when the Wets stayed at No1 with Love Is All Around for what felt like most of 1994 it got annoying too.

Gerard Butler

He may be a Hollywood action hero and his Scottish accent may have gone a little Sheena Easton after living in the States but Gerry loves his homeland. Bagpipes roomy costume could also hide his muscles.

The audience for the thrilling conclusion of the last series of The Masked Singer peaked at over 10 million as figuring out ‘who’s that behind the mask?’ became a national obsession.

Now, Davina McCall, Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan are heading back to their detective chairs as the guessing game begins all over again.

Joel Dommett hosts the only show that can claim to have moved viewers to tears with a dragon’s emotional rendition of Adele’s Make You Feel My Love, and to have blown away audiences with a leather-clad biking Badger’s performance of Wrecking Ball.

The Masked Singer is produced by Bandicoot Scotland (part of Argonon Group) for ITV and the executive producers are Derek McLean, Daniel Nettleton and Claire Horton.

Viewers can also catch up on both series of The Masked Singer on BritBox.
