The Masked Singer in explosive sexism row as judges lust over Justin Hawkins

The Masked Singer has been plunged into a sexism row over the judges’ lusting over contestant Justin Hawkins.

The Darkness star, who was revealed as the man in the Chameleon suit, claimed Rita Ora and the others wouldn’t have got away with their comments if he was a woman.

The 44-year-old said: “Not sure if some of the remarks would be allowed if I were a female contestant, so I think we’re a little way off equality."

Chameleon’s costume drew a lot of attention from judges Rita, Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall and Ken Jeong.

Rita admitted she had “checked out” the star, with Jonathan adding he could “see everything”. Davina told Chameleon Rita had the hots for him.

Justin said he’d “enjoyed the attention”, but that his skintight Lycra made him “feel a little exposed in key areas”.

Despite his concerns about the remarks, Justin is a fan of the ITV show.

“Satellite TV is so stale,” Justin scolded.

"Everything’s in its 10th or 11th season" he added.

And he joked he’d taken part because he wanted “to show you that I’m still alive”.

“Keeping secrets is challenging,” he added about keeping his role under wraps.

“I used a combination of bluffery, bare-faced lies and vague muttering to explain absences.”
